In the gap behind the woman's trash, runs the rainwater canal, which sometimes rises and tears everything with it.

Quezon City, Manila.

Waste management is a major challenge in the slum, and it is often either burned or thrown to the ground where it ends up in streams that stagnates. Along with untreated wastewater, the contaminated water poses a major health threat
among the residents of the slum. Therefore, it is important for residents to include waste management as an important point in their local and development plans, which they present to the local
authorities.
