Up to 38 percent of the Philippine workforce belongs to the so-called informal sector as self-employed day renters, small producers or distributors of goods and services. The most vulnerable often have a 12-hour work day.
With more than 650,000 vehicles, the motorized bicycle taxi is both the cheapest and the most widely used form of public transport in the Philippines. Unfortunately, it also contributes to many accidents and a lot of air pollution, especially in the big cities.
